CDS® lock Combination Brace Knee-Ankle
Whole-leg orthosis for dynamic redression and stance support with locking function of the knee joint
The CDS® lock combination knee/ankle orthosis is based on the CDS® principle and is used to treat an extension deficit of the knee joint and a dorsal extension deficit of the ankle joint. The brace applies a dynamic low load prolonged stretch to stimulate growth in the contracted tissue. The spring force also supports the patient when standing up. To stabilize and secure the stance, the CDS® hinges in the knee are equipped with a self-locking lock. Further locking steps are achieved when the knee is extended further. When the lock is engaged, the orthosis can fully absorb the patient's load, enabling standing therapy. Locking and unlocking can be adjusted by the patient with one hand and without tools directly via a remote control on the orthosis. In "freewheel" mode, the hinge is permanently set to freewheel. This makes it possible to walk shorter transfer distances and for use in walking therapy.
